China ZBL-19 IFV: China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has accelerated the deployment of its new ZBL-19 Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) in the Western Theatre Command from India. Recent photographs and open source intelligence reports indicate that now the units of the 76th Group Army as well as the 77th Group Army are gaining this new armored vehicle.

This is the same Western Theater Command which handles the responsibility of the border with Tibet, Shinjiang and India. At the same time, the deployment of ZBL-19 in this area is a big step towards further strengthening of China’s rapid moving medium combined arms brigades.

China ZBL-19 IFV: 77th Group Army also showing new IFV

The ZBL-19-T12 version with LX31 Tactical Numbering appeared in a Chinese military photo recently released. The vehicle is being connected to the 39th Combined Arms Brigade of the 77th Group Army.

Earlier it was believed that this brigade has got old type-59 tanks, but the questions were raised about the deployment of old tanks in hard terrain like Tibet Military Region. While the presence of ZBL-19 now indicates that this unit is being prepared as a modern medium brigade.

Posted in 2025

China’s Government Media Global Times had confirmed the report published on 11 August 2026 that a Brigade of the 76th Group Army met the ZBL-19 vehicle in 2025. It is believed that it was the 149th Medium Combined Arms Brigade.

Explainer: What's Contemporary-243? How different is Spice-2000, Hammer, Sav and Gaurav. New Glide Bomb of IAF

Khagantak-243 Glide Bomb
What is the Khagantak-243 Glide Bomb? Indigenous Weapon Compares with SPICE-2000, HAMMER, SAAW and Gaurav

Khagantak-243 Glide Bomb: Indian Air Force recently tested the indigenous Long Range Glide Bomb Khagantak-243. Air Force reported that all set targets were achieved during this test. This weapon is being considered to be an important achievement of India’s Precision Strike Weps Program. The special thing is that it is completely indigenous, which has been prepared to attack accurately from a long distance. The purpose of this weapon is to give the fighter planes the ability to attack remotely without entering the enemy’s air defense area.

Khagantak-243 Glide Bomb: What happens Glide Bomb?

The common bombs fall down the front of gravity after being dropped from the plane. The marching distance of such bombs is limited and the plane has to go quite close to the target.

but Glide Bomb These are different. These feature special fins and control surfaces. After the aircraft is left, they reach the target while gliding for a long distance in the air. These do not contain engines, so their cost is significantly lower than the cruise missile.

That’s why modern air forces are extensively used glide bombs. These can accurately attack runway, radar station, command center, ammunition depot and other important bases. Khagantak-243 Glide Bomb

Glidemunition of 300 kg category

Khagantak-243 is a stand-off Glidemunition of about 300 kg of categorie. It has been found by JSR Dynamics and India Electronics Limited (BEL).

The warhead of the MK-81 category weighing about 125 kg in this weapon can be applied. The biggest feature of it is its long shackle capacity.

It can target the target for more than 140 kilometres if it is left with a height of about 12 kilometres. This range can be higher in some testing profiles.

Khagantak-243 is built in such a way that its wings open after the aircraft is separated and it moves towards the target while flying controlled. Khagantak-243 Glide Bomb

How does the Guidance System work?

Modern navigation and guidance technology have been used in Khagantak-243. In its early phase, INS i.e. essential navigation system and satellite based navigation are used.

Electro-optical and infrared sewer can be used in the final part of terminal phase i.e. target. Also the option of Passive Homeing Head is available.

Only its accuracy in navigation based mode is explained within about 10 meters. This accuracy can be less than 5 meters on the use of the sugarer. It can also target any special building, bunker, radar or other small targets with accuracy. Khagantak-243 Glide Bomb

Su-30MKI test

Indian Air Force has not named the launch platform public in its official statement. But Khagantak-243 has been linked with Su-30MKI fighter aircraft according to the information found from formulas.

BEL in February 2025 reported that the first flight test of Khagantak-243 Su-30MKI will be done from.

Su-30MKI is the most powerful multiroll fighter jet of Indian Air Force. It is capable of carrying heavy weapons and can be installed Brahmaos, Rudram and many other indigenous weapons. This weapon can also be applied to other platforms like Mig-29K in the future. Khagantak-243 Glide Bomb

Introduced in Aero India in 2019

Introducing the Khagantak-243 project, the former Indian Air Force headed by Air Marshal Shirish Baban Dev. During the service in Air Force, he started working on this technique at a small Research Lab in Jodhpur. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, headed by DRDO at that time saw this initiative and also helped the Lab to Rs 10 lakh. The project will continue to work for more than 12 years.

JSR Dynamics was established in Nagpur around the year 2018 and the company partnered with India Electronics Limited (BEL) at the Aero India Show of 2019. Under this partnership prepares the body and control system of the JSR Dynamics Bomb, while the BEL offers the Guidance system, electronics and other important subsystems. Indigenous content has been used up to 90 per cent in this project.

During Aero India in February 2025, BEL had reported that the Indian Air Force has given the initial order for a limited number of Khagantak-243.

A number of different versions of Khagantak are also being developed. Khagantak-225 LW is considered to be a lighter version, the range of which is up to 180 kilometers. While the consignment-306 has been devoted with more advanced guidance and control systems. Also work is released on the large version of 450 kg, 720 kg and 1260 kg category. Khagantak-243 Glide Bomb

How different from other Glide Bombs?

Indian Air Force already has a number of Precision Strike weapons. Israeli Spice-2000 The bomb was quite churched after the Balakot operation. Its glide range is considered about 60 kilometres and its target detection system is considered quite mature. France Hammer Weapons also give stand-off attack capability. While DRDO’s Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon (Save) is a close 125 kilograms-class weapon developed to damage runways and airports. The range of it is ranged for about 100 kilometres. In addition, DRDO in 2025 also tested the heavy Glide Bomb of a 1,000 kilogram category called Gaurav.

Although the magnitude-243 is quite lighter than the pride, a fighter plane can simultaneously carry more numbers of such weapons.

At the same time it is based on the fully indigenous supply chain, thereby reducing the dependence on the import.

While missiles such as Brahmos are highly expensive and limited numbers available, a large number of ready-made Glyde bombs such as Khagantak-243 can be relatively low cost. Khagantak-243 Glide Bomb

Ability to attack long distances

Air defense systems are constantly strengthened in modern wars. Going very close to the target for the fighter plane in such a can be risky.

The stand-off capacity of more than 140 kilometres of Khagant-243 allows the aircraft to be attacked relatively safely.

This reduces the risk of both pilots and aircraft. As well as sharp and accurate attack on the important military bases of the enemy is possible.

Multi-GNSS base navigation has been used in this weapon, which benefits various satellite navigation systems. Also, this system is effective even in electronic warfare. Khagantak-243 Glide Bomb

Indigenous Ship-Based Satcom Terminal will take place in Indian Naval Ships, GSAT-7R will be connected with the complete Fleet

Indian Navy SATCOM Terminal
Indian Navy Launches Indigenous Ship-Based SATCOM Terminal Program for GSAT-7R Network

Indian Navy SATCOM Terminal: The Indian Navy has decided to fully indigenousize the Satellite Communication System used on its warships. The Navy has released the Expression of Interest (EOI) to develop the Indigenous Ship-based Satcom Terminals. Under this project, Indian companies will create state-of-the-art C-Band and Ku-Band terminals that will help maintain safe voices, data, and video communications while remaining thousands of kilometres away in the warship sea.

This project defense acquisition process DAP-2020 Under the Make-II category of K has been approved. The Navy plan is of development and procurement of about 10 C-bands and 20 Ku-band Satcom terminals.

Indian Navy SATCOM Terminal: The new system will be ready for GSAT-7R

This project is a focus on developing a fully-compatible terminal with the new Military Communications Satellite GSAT-7R, also known as CMS-03.

Indian Navy Since 2013, GSAT-7 is using ‘Rukmini’ Satellite. It connects satellite navy ships, submarines and planes to a secure network. GSAT-7R launched in November 2025 further enhanced this capacity.

About 4,410 kilograms weighing. This communication satellite works in UHF,S,C and Ku-band. With its help, the Indian Navy gets access to safe voice, data, and video communications for about 2,000 kilometres in the Indian Ocean region. Its estimated service life is up to 15 years.

Now the Navy wants the ship-based terminals working with this satellite to be developed only in India to reduce dependence on foreign devices. (Indian Navy SATCOM Terminal)

Many important systems are imported right now

Many C-bands and Ku-band hardware currently being used are purchased from the outside. Special antenna and tracking systems are mounted on ships to maintain satellite communications in the sea.

New Indigenous Terminals have been emphasised on developing such technology which reduces the number of mechanical parts or can be completely removed. This will reduce maintenance and increase the reliability of the system under marine conditions. These systems are named ‘Rukmini Terminals’. (Indian Navy SATCOM Terminal)

First Will Make Prototype

Prototypes will be developed first under the project. It has a C-band Large Ship Satcom Terminal, a Ku-band Large Ship Satcom Terminal and a Ku-band Small Ship Satcom Terminal will be prepared.

Production will begin after their successful test. With about 10 large C-band terminals, 10 large Ku-band terminals and 10 small Ku-band terminals will be purchased. The entire expenditure on development like the Make-II project will be to bear the industry itself.

Even in the toughest conditions of the sea must work

The Navy has set several technical requirements for this project. The Satcom terminal will also have to maintain precise pointing towards the satellite even under frequent changing conditions in the sea.

Warships are constantly faced with speeds like rolls, pitches and so on. Also salty environments, fast air, vibration and bad weather also create challenge. Despite all these circumstances, the terminal will have to maintain without link broken communication. (Indian Navy SATCOM Terminal)

Special emphasis on indigenous material

Naval has laid the minimum of 50 per cent indigenous content in the project. This condition will also apply to the whole embedded software with hardware. Industries have to authenticate that the design is indigenous.

Under the project, Develop will remain near the Intellectual Property Rights Development Agency, but in matters relating to national security, the Government will receive special rights.

The prior permission of the Ministry of Defence will be required to inspect or audit these systems to any foreign government or agency. (Indian Navy SATCOM Terminal)

Focus on Satellite Communication and Antenna Design

Navy has clarified that the most important technical capacity of the project Satellite Communication And the antenna will design. Participating companies must show design and development experience in defense, aerospace, research or industrial areas. Also, it is necessary to tell what important techniques they have indigenized.

Foreign partnerships have been allowed, but companies have to clarify which technology is coming out and which will be paved in India. (Indian Navy SATCOM Terminal)

Three-D Motion Table Test Required

The testing process of this project is kept quite comprehensive. Companies have to provide all Lab Testing facilities with their own arrangements.

Specially three-D motion table tests are essential. The actual speed of the ship will be created in these tests to see whether the terminal can maintain a constant satellite link or not.

In addition, the Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad or equivalent Institute will also have to be tested.

The system must obtain vulnerability adjustment (VA) clearance before integration into the Naval Network. Thereafter single stage composite user trials will be conducted on the actual novice platform. (Indian Navy SATCOM Terminal)

Preference to MSMEs and startups

This project is currently reserved for MSME sector. If at least two eligible MSMEs do not apply, other companies will be considered.

Startups can also participate in this project, provided they are registered in Engineering, Manufacturing, Research or Defense Technology sectors.

Consortium model is also allowed. The maximum five members can make a group together, but they have to designate a lead member.

The last date for submission of EOI is 24 October. Interested companies can send their questions and explanations by 22 September 2026.

Companies will get 104 weeks i.e. about two years of time to develop the prototype. Thereafter the test and evaluation process will go.

Network-Centric Warfare Will Strengthen

The Indian Navy has already linked its ships, submarines and aircraft to network-based operations. GSAT-7 Rukmini played a key role in connecting about 60 warships and 75 planes to a shared network during Tropex practice held in 2014.

Bandwidth, coverage and communication capacity have been increased after GSAT-7R arrives. Indigenous development of satcom terminals now used on ships is being considered to be an important step towards making the Indian Navy’s communication network more self-sufficient. Implementing new defense law in China from 1st October, companies and civilian assets will increase military control

China Defence Mobilization Law
Copyright © 2019 Expands Military Access to Data, Technology, Industry and Civilian Resources.

China Defence Mobilization Law: China has made large modifications to its National Defense Mobility Law. China’s top legislative institution approved the revised law on August 29, which will be applicable from October 1. This shift is being seen as a comprehensive legal arrangement of connecting China’s military preparation, industrial capacity, data management and civil resources to defence needs.

This law was first implemented in 2010. There have been major changes since 16 years now. The revised law had the first 72 paragraphs, which have been increased by 82. Through new provisions, China has clarified how the process of transforming civil and industrial resources into military capacity in case of any national security challenge will be operated.

China Defense Mobilization Law: New basis of added "Development Interest" to the law

One of the most important changes in the modified law is to include "Development Interest" i.e. development interests. The first law was primarily focused on national sovereignty, unity, regional integrity and threats associated with security.

Now it also has added development interests. In accordance with the law, if China’s growth interests are considered a threat, the steps associated with national defence mobility can be taken. Though the clear definition of the "Development Interest" in the law is not given.

This change increases the scope of circumstances in which the Government may consider the steps associated with mobility.

Community Party Role and Strong

In Revised Law china The role of the communist party is further clarified. The Defence Mobility Commissions working nationally and locally are formally placed under party leadership.

This means that direct monitoring and control of the party in decisions associated with defence preparations and management of resources have already been recorded more clearly.

There has been a significant role of the party in the defence and security structure even earlier in China, but now it has been clearly involved in the law.

Focus on data based preparation

A large part of new law is linked to data and information management. China now wants to deliver a permanent and data based mobility system.

The respective government agencies under the law may collect data associated with mobility, analyze and assess the potential.

Individuals, companies and organizations have to provide the necessary statistics and information. If an institution provides incorrect information, delays giving information or hides statistics, action can be taken against it.

The objective is that the correct picture of the resources available in any emergency remained present to the Government.

Industry and Supply Chain also included in law

The most comprehensive bearing of the modified law may fall on the industrial zone of China. The supply chain security, production capacity, technical resources, software, logistics network and emerging technical fields in new provisions are part of national defense mobility.

It is said to develop the mobilization capacity of the emerging sectors, namely "Emerging Fields" in law. It is being considered to include advanced technology, digital system, artificial intelligence and other modern technical fields.

Under this, companies and entities can be expected to prioritize their production capacity and resources in accordance with the national defence requirements when needed.

Enhanced Scope of Reserve System

The revised law also extends the military human resource regime. The first law was primarily focused on "Reserve Personal".

Now the concept of "Reserve Manpower" has been adopted by making it wider. Active in it Military Units People connected to may also include Reserve Force, Millishia Member and other persons identified under Military Service Registration System.

This change is aimed at better utilization of human resources available when needed.

Large change associated with property acquisition

Provisions relating to property in new law have also been extended. Under the first law the government could temporarily use a property and return it to normal circumstances.

Now the revised law includes the provision of compulsory acquisition i.e. "Expropriation". Under which the Government can own a property under special circumstances.

However, in the law, it is also said that in such a situation, appropriate and equitable compensation will be given.

New provision even on information control

New provisions involving information management and communication control have been added in the modified law. The concerned authorities will issue official information if a process starts related to mobility, manage communication forums and control the spread of information.

Preparation of incorrect mobilization information in law or spreading it is clearly placed in the category of violations.

The objective is to maintain the official information system.

Is it a sign of war preparation?

An important thing has been clarified despite the changes made in law. Revised law does not automatically declare any national mobility or war.

The decision of general or partial mobility in China will still be taken by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. The formal mobilization order will be issued on behalf of the President.

At the same time, State Council and Central Military Commission will maintain the already existing powers to take necessary steps in emergency.

Changes to suit the needs of the modern war

Changes in the law as per Chinese authorities have been taken into account the changing needs of modern war and national security.

In Law Military ResearchThe system of industrial capacity, human resources, logistics, technical development, use of civil resources and transforming economic power into defence capacity has been updated.

Also special emphasis is given on promoting the use of emerging techniques and linking new technical capabilities to the National Defense System. (China Defence Mobilization Law)

Javelin Missile Deal Explained
Why India Will Assemble, Not Fully Manufacture the US Anti-Tank Missile

Javelin Missile Deal Explained: Recently the Indian Army has compromised the US to buy Jevalin Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM). It has also been a new agreement between Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Javalin Joint Venture (JJV). The picture is somewhat different, though the nuances of this agreement are seen. Under the agreement, the Jivlin missile will not be completed in India. Only the final assembly of the missile in India and the possibility of setting up the integration facility will be done. The most important and sensitive parts of the missile will remain in America.

Javelin Missile Deal Explained: What is Javelin Missile?

Javlin One of the world’s most modern and effective anti-tank missile systems is considered. The U.S. Army joined the service in 1996.

This is a man-portable missile, i.e. a soldier can use it on their shoulders to the battlefield. It is based on the "Fire and Forget" technique. This means that the soldier does not need to constantly monitor the target after the missile is stained. The missile reaches the target itself with the help of its Guidance system.

Javalin is used to destroy tanks, armored vehicles, bunkers and other strong military bases. Its effective march capacity is considered for about 2.5 kilometres.

Why did India decide to buy Jewlin?

Indian Army Modern Long 3rd Generation Anti-tank missiles facing the lack of. The Army still has wire-guideed missiles like Milan-2T and Konkurs-M.

The development of DRDO’s Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) is also on the other hand. But the army needed the proven and modern system in a war for urgent needs.

That’s why India decided to buy Jevalin Missile under the US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process.

The U.S. Defence Security Cooperation Agency already reported a potential package worth $ 4.57 crore. It included 100 FGM-148 Javalin Missiles, a fly-to-bay missile and 25 lightweight command launch unit. (Javelin Missile Deal Explained)

What happened between Tata and US companies?

Tata Advanced Systems and Javlin The MoU was signed between the Joint Venture. Javlin Joint Venture is the joint venture of Lockheed Martin and Rethion, two major defense companies in the US. Both of these companies have now prepared more than 55,000 Jevalin missiles and more than 12,000 launch units.

The two sides will look for the possibility of establishing the final assembly and integration facility for the Jevlin All-up Round (AUR) in India, as per the agreement.

Tata Advanced Systems has been selected the major Indian partner for the project after evaluating multiple Indian companies. (Javelin Missile Deal Explained)

Will there be a complete Javalin missile in India?

This is the most important aspect of the agreement. The entire missile will not be constructed in India at the moment, as per the release of the press release. The main and sensitive parts of the missile will remain in America.

Lockheed Martin will prepare all-assembly kits of missiles in its Troy, Alabama-based plant. While Rethion will create the Guidance Electronics Unit in its Tucson, Arizona plant.

Guidance Electronics Unit is considered to be the most important part of the missile. This is the onboard computer of the missile that identifies the target and delivers the missile to the target.

All these major parts will be sent from the US to India. The Tata Advanced Systems will then carry out their final assembly and integration in India. (Javelin Missile Deal Explained)

Will technology transfer?

The Indian Army was first pushed towards buying Jevlin in 2009. At that time, India’s priority was not only to buy a missile but also to gain access to critical techniques.

But technology transfers cannot be construed during the 2012 interaction. After this case did not last for a long time.

No sensitive technology transfer has been announced in the current agreement. No indigenization target, investment amount or percentage of Indian content has been declared.

In the joint statement only said that the prospects of the component building in India will be considered. (Javelin Missile Deal Explained)

What will benefit Indian Defence Industry?

(Javelin Missile Deal Explained)

(Javelin Missile Deal Explained)

(Javelin Missile Deal Explained)

Large entry into India’s GCAP, UK, Japan and Italy’s sixth-generation fighter jet program

GCAP Dialogue
Alongside AMCA Alongside AMCA

India GCAP Dialogue Partner: India has got the status of the "Dilog Partner" in the United Kingdom, Japan and Italy-led Global Combat Air Program (GCAP). The most ambitious of the GCAP world Sixth generation (Sixth Generation) is considered to be one of the fighter aircraft programs. This program is led by UK, Japan and Italy. The goal is to include a state-of-the-art fighter aircraft service around the year 2035.

The move of making Dialogue Partners to India has emerged in a time when India is pushing its indigenously advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program as well as keeping an eye on the future Air Combat Technology.

India GCAP Dialogue Partner: What is GCAP Program?

The Global Combat Air Program was launched in 2022, when the UK, Japan and Italy decided to bring their next-generation fighter aircraft programs to a platform. It aims to create an air combat system that includes the ability to work together with the stalth technology, artificial intelligence, advanced sensors, electronic warfare systems, high-speed data links and unmanned platforms.

The aircraft under GCAP will operate as a network with drones, satellites, airborne sensors and other platforms. It is therefore not only a plane but a complete Combat ecosystem of the future war.

What will India benefit?

India’s Meet Dialogue Partner Status doesn’t mean it has become a full member of the program at the moment. But this will give India a chance to interact with three countries on future warplane techniques, security needs, and industrial cooperation opportunities.

India will have the opportunity to discuss the topics of program direction, technical needs, and industrial cooperation after the Dialogue partner has entered.

Though India won’t have any role in managing secret design information, sensitive techniques or programs at this stage. He is not yet a part of the program’s funding or development.

In spite of this, the defence experts are considering it as it will give India the opportunity to understand the techniques that could normally take several decades to develop.

Also, Indian companies may also open the opportunity to become a part of the Global Supply Chain in the future. GCAP Dialogue Partner

AMCA is the biggest expectation of India

India’s own AMCA The programme is being considered to be extremely important for the country. AMCA is an indigenous fifth-generation stalth fighter aircraft that is being devloped by taking into account the future needs of the Indian Air Force.

India is not only building a new fighter plane through this project, but also gaining experience in critical techniques such as stalth design, advanced avionics, sensors, electronic warfare, and vanity integration. GCAP Dialogue Partner

Europe’s FCAS also includes options

Apart from GCAP India Europe Future Combat Air System (FCAS) program is also monitored.

(India GCAP Dialogue Partner)

(India GCAP Dialogue Partner)

(India GCAP Dialogue Partner)

(India GCAP Dialogue Partner)

The tank will meet the army only after the test

Several tests will be conducted on tanks after overhaul completion. The first solution and the Turret will have different tests. Sustainability tests and running trials will be done by adding both.

Firing accuracy of the tank will also be checked. The final inspection will be in the presence of the Army, EME and other agencies after all the tests are successful. Some of its tests can also be carried out in the Pokhran Field Firing Range of Rajasthan or other military testing areas. (Arjun Mk-1 Tank Upgrade)

18 months to complete work

Ministry of Defence has decided 18 months for the project. HVF will be assigned to the Army by completing the overhaul and upgrade of both tanks after receiving the contract. The provision of economic penalties is also laid upon delay from time to time. There will also be 24 months or 150 engine hours warranty on tanks.

The project also includes DRDO’s CVRDDE, Quality Assurance Agencies, EFA ODI, Rank India, India Electronics Limited, Tata Advanced Systems and other defence industries besides HVF. (Arjun Mk-1 Tank Upgrade)

Weight loss is in operation

A total of 124 Arjun MK-1 tanks were handed over to the Indian Army, between 2004 and 2012. These tanks are currently 43rd Armored Regiment and 75th Armoured Regiment Posted in. The deployment of these has been carried out mainly in the western desert areas of Rajasthan, where its capabilities can be better used. There are limitations of operation in some bridges and difficult terrains due to a weight of about 58.5 tonnes, so they are considered more suitable for the desert battlefield.

Arjun MK-1 tanks are still in the active service of the Indian Army. However, due to the lack of spare parts at the beginning, many tanks were in maintenance and some tanks were standing for a long time between 2013 and 2015. Afterwards these are provided necessary spares. Structures like "Cop Cage" have also been imposed to protect against drone attacks on certain Arjun tanks, given the changing challenges of the Battlefield in recent years.

Also the SAMHO anti-tank missile launched from the gun in Arjun MK-1 tanks has not yet been included regularly, although it has been successfully tested. (Arjun Mk-1 Tank Upgrade)

Order of Arjun MK-1A Now

While in 2021, the Indian Army had ordered 118 Arjun MK-1A tanks. The MK-1A version has added several new capabilities, including improved fire control systems, modern monitoring tools, and advanced security features. While the project is facing engine problems.

The serial production line of German MTU engine used in Arjun tank has not been found to be triggered due to closure. By July-August 2026 the army has not found a single serial production MK-1A tank. There are currently two prototypes available, while new engines are being awaited for mass production. For this Indigenous Datron 1500 horsepower engine and MTU base is running on new options.
