Bhairav-Ashni: The Indian Army has operationalized its new two forefathers Bharav Battalion and Ashni Platoon. Both of these units are designed to take into account the needs of Modern Battlefield. The Army has so far stood 5 Bhairav Battalions, which have been deployed in separate forward area. These battalions are part of the Army’s modernization and "Future Ready Force" vision after the operation shifter.
Director General Infantry Lieutenant General Ajay Kumar said that "Bharav Battalion has been prepared to fill the gap between traditional Infantry and Special Forces. These battalions are made of small but highly trained soldiers, capable of rapid and decisive action. ""
Bhairav-Ashni: 25 plans to prepare battalion
General Kumar pointed out that five Bhairav Battalions have been prepared in the first phase, whose training has commenced from October 1 and will last until October 30. Within six months, it is planned to increase the number of them to 25 battalions. He told that these units have already been deployed in the "Intended Area of Operations" and after "On-the-job training" these units will be prepared for real memories.
Bhairav-Ashni: Equipped with disposable arms system
Bhairav Battalions are a unit of about 250 soldiers, smaller than traditional infantry battalions (800-900 soldiers). These include trained seals of artillery, signal and air defense. These units have been equipped with personal anti-aircraft missiles, loteringmissions, and a variety of drones. They have disposable weapon systems that can be left immediately after fire, allowing soldiers to move faster.
These light commando battalions are designed to immediately hinder attack, border security, counter-insurance and enemy activities. These are being made by relocating troops from existing Infantry Battalions without any new recruitment under the "Save and Reg" model. This initiative is part of the Modernization Scheme of Talsena after operation shifter.
"The Lord Battalion has been prepared to take fast, effective action on enemy sensitive and high-value targets," said Lt. General Ajay Kumar. This units will be Lean and Pisces – i.e. less number of more influential marching capacity. These are small-sized but extremely effective units, which will be able to deliver more results than proportions despite their limited size. ""
He pointed out that these battalions are part of the Dicked of Transformation under the modernisation campaign of the Army. The Bhairav Units are being deployed in areas where immediate accountable actions, accurate wars and decisive actions are needed in limited time.

The first Battalion of the Army’s five Bhairav Battalions as per the formulas is positioned for reconcision and cross-border operations under the Northern Command in Ladakh. The second and third battalions are prepared for counter-terr missions on Loc under Srinagar and Nagarota 15th 16th Core. The fourth Battalion is positioned in the desert area of Rajasthan/Panjab under the Western command and in the Arunchal Pradesh under the fifth Battalion Eastern Command.
Bhairav-Ashni: Ashni Platoon: the strength of the drone in Battlefield
According to the DG Lieutenant General Ajay Kumar of Infantry, in parallel with the Bhairav Battalion, the Indian Army has created a ‘Ashni Platoon’ in each Infantry Battalion. Ashni means ‘Agni’ or ‘Energy’, under which the drone-based combat capacity in Battlefield is to be included in the strength of the Infantry.
DG Infantry reported that Ashni Platoon has been prepared in more than 380 infantry battalions. These platoons work in two categories, the first survey and the second lotermunition. " Ashni Platoon is built under the "Eagle on Arms" concept, in which every soldier will be capable in operating the drone with his platform. The first type of platoon drones monitor the activities of the enemy, while the second type of platoon will attack the drone accurately.
Bhairav-Ashni: Training of FPV Drone
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल कुमार के मुताबिक अश्नि यूनिट्स को भारतीय उद्योगों द्वारा निर्मित उपकरणों से लैस करने के लिए 9 कैटेगरी के ड्रोन का ट्रायल चल रहा है। इनमें इन्फॉर्मेशन, सर्वेलेंस, रिकॉनिसेंस (आईएसआर) और कामीकाजी ड्रोन शामिल हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि अश्नि प्लाटून के सैनिकों को फर्स्ट पर्सन व्यू (एफपीवी) ड्रोन ऑपरेशन की विशेष ट्रेनिंग दी जा रही है, जिससे वे रियल टाइम इमेजरी, लक्ष्य निर्धारण और सटीक हमला करने में सक्षम बन सकें।
काउंटर-यूएएस सिस्टम तैनात
प्रत्येक इन्फैंट्री बटालियन में 16 ड्रोन प्लाटून होंगी, जिनमें से कुछ लंबी दूरी की और कुछ नजदीकी मिशनों के लिए सक्षम होंगी। सेना के अनुसार, ये यूनिट्स दुश्मन के इलाके में अंदर तक जाकर सटीक प्रहार करने की क्षमता रखती हैं।
उन्होंने बताया कि ड्रोन के साथ-साथ, सेना ने काउंटर-यूएएस सिस्टम (काउंटर-अनमैनड एरियल सिस्टम्स) भी तैनात किए हैं ताकि दुश्मन के ड्रोन हमलों से सैनिकों की रक्षा की जा सके।
आत्मनिर्भर भारत पहल का हिस्सा
सेना की ये दोनों नई इकाइयां भैरव और अश्नि ‘आत्मनिर्भर भारत’ पहल का हिस्सा हैं। इनके लिए जरूरी हथियार और उपकरण घरेलू रक्षा उद्योग और डीपीएसयू (डिफेंस पब्लिक सेक्टर यूनिट्स) के सहयोग से तैयार किए जा रहे हैं।
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल अजय कुमार ने कहा, “भारतीय इन्फैंट्री अब भविष्य के युद्धक्षेत्र के लिए तैयार है। ड्रोन, स्मार्ट हथियार और विशेष रूप से प्रशिक्षित सैनिक हमारी रणनीतिक क्षमताओं को नए स्तर पर ले जा रहे हैं।”
