सेना से जुड़े सूत्र कहते हैं, सेना के इस कदम के पीछे की रणनीतिक सोच सीधे तौर पर भारत की सीमा सुरक्षा से जुड़ी है। पूर्वी लद्दाख के ऊंचे और बेहद ठंडे इलाकों में हालात सामान्य नहीं होते। यहां ऑक्सीजन कम होती है, तापमान माइनस में चला जाता है और कई जगहों पर सड़कें या तो हैं ही नहीं या फिर साल के बड़े हिस्से में बर्फ से ढकी रहती हैं। ऐसे माहौल में बड़े मशीनी वाहन हर समय काम नहीं कर पाते। इसी वजह से सेना के सामने सबसे बड़ी चुनौती होती है “लास्ट माइल सप्लाई”, यानी आखिरी चौकी तक रसद और जरूरी सामान पहुंचाना, और नियमित पेट्रोलिंग करना।
इन्हीं जरूरतों को देखते हुए डबल हंप बैक्ट्रियन ऊंट और जंस्कारी पोनी को सेना के सिस्टम में शामिल किया गया है। ये जानवर बेहद ठंडे मौसम, कम ऑक्सीजन और कठिन रास्तों में भी बिना ज्यादा परेशानी के काम कर सकते हैं। बैक्ट्रियन ऊंट भारी वजन उठाकर ऊंचाई वाले इलाकों में लंबे समय तक चल सकते हैं, जबकि जंस्कारी पोनी संकरे और खतरनाक पहाड़ी रास्तों पर बेहद भरोसेमंद साबित होती हैं।
राष्ट्रीय गौरव और जागरूकता है सेना का संदेश
गणतंत्र दिवस परेड में पहली बार इन जानवरों को शामिल करने के पीछे एक साफ संदेश भी है। सेना यह दिखाना चाहती है कि वह केवल आधुनिक तकनीक जैसे ड्रोन, रोबोटिक म्यूल और ऑल टेरेन व्हीकल्स पर ही निर्भर नहीं है, बल्कि जरूरत पड़ने पर पारंपरिक और आजमाए हुए तरीकों को भी उतनी ही मजबूती से अपनाती है। इसके अलावा, इस कदम का एक सांस्कृतिक और राष्ट्रीय पहलू भी है। परेड के जरिए लद्दाख की इन अनोखी प्रजातियों को राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर हाइलाइट करना चाहती है, जिससे उस क्षेत्र के सामरिक और सांस्कृतिक महत्व को देश के सामने लाया जा सके। (Republic Day Parade 2026)
