Xploder UGV: Indian Army Indigenously Developed to Innovate its Operational Capability and ‘ Xploder has decided to include unmanaged ground vehicle (UGV). This robotic vehicle has been developed by the Major Rajprasad of the 7 engineer regiment of the Indian Army. Xploder UGV will be used in operations against terrorism and infiltration in North and North Eastern Sectors.
Xploder UGV: Indian Army Major has prepared
This indigenous unmanned ground vehicle created by Major Rajprasad has undergone stringent tests over the past two years. Now it is ready for mass production after meeting all the needs of the army. A private Indian defence manufacturing company will make it and hundreds of units in the coming months will be included in the Indian Army’s Infantry, Special Forces and Engineering Corps.
"We have faced the challenge of IED for decades," said Major Rajprasad. I started working on this technique to solve it. Xploder will save the lives of soldiers as well as enhance the effectiveness of the campaign. ""

‘Xploder’ has been specifically designed to inactivate anti-terrorism campaigns and explosives improvised Explosive Devices (IED). For years, many Indian soldiers have lost their lives in the IED attacks of terrorist organizations. Considering this threat, Major Rajprasad decided to find the solution to this problem and created the ‘Xploder’ under the ‘Soul Bharat’ initiative of the Army.
This UGV has been used in the deserts of Rajasthan, the hill areas of Jammu and Kashmir and the dense forests of the Northeast. During the trials, its capabilities were constantly improved and a number of significant improvements were also made based on the tips received from the field personnel of the army.
"We have developed it as a multifunctional platform," says Major Rajprasad. It can play a number of roles from attacking enemy bases to disaster relief actions. ""
The merits of Xploder UGV
This robotic vehicle with a weight of less than 500 kg can carry out many works, including: Unmanned human intervention monitoring and towhi campaigns, deactivating explosive devices, bombing terrorist bases, destroying enemy bases through ‘Kamikaze Mission’ and helping disaster relief actions, such as delivering relief material to earthquake or flood affected areas.

‘Xploder’ has high-resolution cameras and state-of-the-art sensors, allowing it to be operated with remote control and not even risk of soldiers’ life. The biggest merit of this vehicle is that it can be controlled by more than 1 kilometre.
Mardon Warfare will get the benefits
The Indian Army is constantly marching himself. The inclusion of Xploder between the growing military activities of neighbors such as China and Pakistan will lead the Indian Army in the ground operation. The growing use of IED by Pakistan-backed terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Thaiba and HNLC has been a major concern.
According to experts, Xploder’s remote operation capacity is more than 1 kilometer, allowing soldiers to eliminate threats from afar. It has high-resolution cameras and robotic arms, capable of inactivating IED or delivering explosives for targeted attacks.
Terrorism will strengthen the affected areas of security
Security forces are constantly faced with IED attacks due to terrorist activities in areas such as J&K, Manipur and Assam in India. According to the report, more than 50 IED explosion events were revealed between 2020 to 2022, with many soldiers martyred. Now the arrival of the ‘Xploder’ will not have the soldiers to face these dangers directly and they will be able to deactivate the explosives remotely. In addition, this UGV may already fail their attacks by dropping explosive tools on terrorist bases.
According to Major Rajprasad, "The first soldiers had to go to the spot to pass the IED, which threatened their lives. Now ‘Xploder’ can do this with full protection. The trials found that it could work harder to tougher areas too. "This robotic vehicle will not only help to monitor the control line (LoC) and India-Myanmar border, but will also prove to be effective against hidden terrorists in dense forests.
Deployment will soon be in the Army
Xploder is one of the three new technologies that the army has approved to include in the next six months. Other two techniques include the IoT-enabled generator monitoring system called "Electrical Protector" and a multi-target remote detonation device called "fire". In August 2024, the way of mass production of both these techniques was cleaned in the presence of Deputy Army Chief Lt. Gen NS Rajsubrmani.
In addition, Major Rajprasad already developed "WEDC" (Wireless Electronic Detonation System) has been serving in Indian Army since 2023.
Pakistan and China are working on their different strategies to combat this new technology of Indian Army. Pakistan has recently been focusing on air drones such as Bayracker TB2 and Wing Lung II of Turkey. On the other hand, China has deployed Type 15 light tanks on India-China border. But ‘Xploder’ will provide a huge strategic benefit to the Indian Army at the ground level against these threats.
Help also in disaster management
Xploder will play an important role not only for military campaigns but also in disaster management. It will be able to deliver relief material and assess damage by passing between debris in flood and earthquake affected areas. This robot can make the Rescue operation more effective in flood and earthquake affected areas. There is a tremendous enthusiasm on social media as well as many users on X (formerly Twitter) have reported the game-changer for the Indian Army.
