Indian Army Organic Air Power: The Indian Army must receive separate air power i.e. helicopters and other air resources for himself or not, once again the debate has been sharpened. Recent Think Tank The analysis said that the air resources of the three forces of the country can be used better by bringing a place. While many military experts, on the other hand, believe that it is important to have their own air assets according to their needs, as urgent air help during the ground war proves to be decisive several times.
Although the case is not only part of the resources, but also connected to the success of timely help and operation to soldiers in the battlefield. Considering instances such as Cargill War, Siachin and 1971, the need for Organic Air Power for the Army is then discussed.
Indian Army Organic Air Power: What is finally Organic Air Power?
Organic Air Power This means that an army has air resources in its control that it can be used directly for its operation. It mainly consists of helicopter, tow aircraft and other support platforms.
Military experts say that during the grassy battles many times the minutes have to be decided. The response may be delayed if there is a second service for air assistance. That is why many countries of the world have their different aviation units.
Lessons from the War of 1971
The war of 1971 in Indian military history is considered a great example. During that the fast growing army on the eastern front needed logistics, soldiers’ movement and other help.
Experts say that in many areas of the army Aviation The resources played a key role. Directly available air support to ground commanders helped speed up operation. The experience promoted the thinking of further strengthening the Army Aviation in later years. Indian Army Air Power
siachin has helicopter lifeline
Operation Megdoot, which started in Siachin in 1984 showed how many helicopters are needed in elevated and difficult areas.
siachin The world’s highest battlefield is considered. Even the biggest means of delivering rations, weapons, medicines and other essential accessories are helicopters.
In such a situation, only the flight is not challenged, but also the safe operation of extremely low temperature and oxygen deficiency is a great responsibility. The Army argues that the same pilots are needed for such missions that well understand the functioning of the Army and the ground needs.
Strength of Army Aviation in Cargill War
During the Cargill war of 1999, the Indian Air Force had played an important role in attacking the enemy bases. While the Chief and Chetak Helicopters of the Army Aviation Corps have also taken immense responsibility.
These helicopters worked to provide logistics to the high peaks of Kargil, extracting injured soldiers and assisting in advance checkpoints.
(Indian Army Organic Air Power)
(Indian Army Organic Air Power)
(Indian Army Organic Air Power)
(Indian Army Organic Air Power)
The debate over organic air power for the Indian Army has gained renewed attention, driven by lessons from the Kargil War, Siachen operations, and modern battlefield requirements. Army Aviation helicopters played a critical role in casualty evacuation, logistics, and frontline support during Kargil, completing thousands of missions in extreme conditions. Military experts argue that dedicated air assets under Army control ensure faster response and better coordination during combat. As warfare evolves, the demand for organic air power is increasingly being viewed as an operational necessity rather than a duplication of resources.
