IAF Garud Special Forces: The Indian Air Force officially incorporated a new batch of its most Elite Unit Garud Special Forces on January 17. On this occasion, Maroon Beret Ceremonial parade was organized at the Garud Regimental Training Centre (GRTC) present at the Air Force Station Silvernagar, Uttar Pradesh. Youngsters are extremely hard and long trainings in service involved and are made to roar commando.
This Seremony Review Assistant Chief of Air Staff Operations (Air Defense) as the Chief Guest. He congratulated the new gurd commandos and said that the role of Special Forces has become more important than ever in a fast-changing security situation. Maroon Beret to Successful Trainees During Parade, Home Proficiency Badges and Special Forces Tabs were provided. This honor does not meet everyone. Elite Airborne and Special Force Operators are identified in the Maroon Beret military world. The seals have to prove themselves not only physically but also mentally to get it.
The Trophies were also given to the young people on the occasion who performed exceptionally during training. The Air Force pointed it a moment of pride and achievement for the garlands and said that it symbolizes the conclusion of extremely difficult training, which turns these seals into "ying special forces operators". Operational capacity of the roars in live demo
During the parade Gurud Commandos also performed live performance of their abilities. It included skils such as Combat Firing, Hostage Rescue, Firing Drill, Assault Explosives, Obstacle Crossing, Wall Climbing, Stething, Rapling and Military Martial Arts. What is the gurd force and why is it special
Home Special Force The Elite Unit of the Indian Air Force was established in 2004. This unit is made by taking into account the needs of the Air Force. The main task of gurd commandos is to protect air force’s important bases, radar systems, missile units and airbases.
Also, the great responsibility of the gurd commandos is the Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR). That is to bring back the pilots of the Air Force dropped into the enemy area. This work is extremely risky and requires high level of training.

हाल ही में मई 2025 में हुए ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के दौरान गरुड़ कमांडोज की भूमिका को बेहद अहम रही थी। इस ऑपरेशन के दौरान गरुड़ कमांडोज ने कई हाई रिस्क मिशनों में हिस्सा लिया, जिनमें ड्रोन न्यूट्रलाइजेशन और स्पेशल सपोर्ट ऑपरेशंस शामिल थे।
वायु सेना के मुताबिक, नए शामिल हुए गरुड़ ऑपरेटर्स इस तरह के मिशनों में वायु सेना की क्षमता को और मजबूत करेंगे और आने वाले समय में नई तरह की स्पेशल जिम्मेदारियां संभालने के लिए तैयार रहेंगे। (IAF Garud Special Forces)
गरुड़ बनने की ट्रेनिंग हैं सबसे कठिन
गरुड़ कमांडो बनने की ट्रेनिंग भारतीय स्पेशल फोर्सेस में सबसे कठिन और लंबी मानी जाती है। इसकी अवधि लगभग 72 सप्ताह, यानी लगभग डेढ़ साल होती है। शुरुआत बेसिक एयरमैन ट्रेनिंग से होती है, इसके बाद तीन महीने का प्रोबेशन पीरियड होता है, जहां ड्रॉपआउट रेट काफी ज्यादा रहता है।
ट्रेनिंग के दौरान जवानों को पैरा जंप, जंगल सर्वाइवल, हाई एल्टीट्यूड ऑपरेशन, बर्फीले इलाकों में सर्वाइवल, एडवांस वेपन हैंडलिंग और क्लोज क्वार्टर बैटल की ट्रेनिंग दी जाती है। कई बार इन्हें आर्मी की यूनिट्स, नेशनल सिक्योरिटी गार्ड और अन्य स्पेशल फोर्सेस के साथ अटैच किया जाता है, ताकि रियल ऑपरेशनल अनुभव मिल सके। (IAF Garud Special Forces)
अन्य स्पेशल फोर्सेस से अलग भूमिका
भारतीय सेना की पैरा स्पेशल फोर्सेस, नौसेना की मार्कोस और वायु सेना की गरुड़ फोर्स तीनों की भूमिका अलग-अलग है। जहां पैरा एसएफ जमीन पर डीप स्ट्राइक और स्ट्रैटेजिक मिशन करती है, वहीं मार्कोस समुद्री और अंडरवॉटर ऑपरेशंस में माहिर होती है। गरुड़ कमांडोज का फोकस एयरबेस सुरक्षा, एयर सपोर्टेड स्पेशल ऑपरेशंस और वायु सेना से जुड़े हाई वैल्यू टारगेट्स पर होता है। (IAF Garud Special Forces)
