Military Combat Parachute DRDO has successfully tested the Military Combat Parachute system at a height of 32,000 ft. in order to be made. This test was carried out by test jumpers of Indian Air Force who jumped freefall through this parachute. With this success, India has proved that the country is now able to create a fully indigenous Airborne Combat system.
According to the Ministry of Defence, DRDO has prepared this parachute system entirely from indigenous technology. The two major laboratories of DRDO on this project have worked closely by Agra’s Aerial Delivery Research and Development Assessment and Bengaluru’s Defense Bioengineering and Electromedical Laboratory.
This parachute system is the only system at the moment in Indian forces that can be deplloyed at a height of more than 25,000 feet. The Military Combat Parachute System was tested at a height of 32,000 feet, technically highly complex and risky. But the paratroopers of the Indian Air Force swamped successful freefalls at a height of 32,000 feet.
This system was deployed at a height of 30,000 feet. This has become the first system to work in this height in Indian forces. It was done by the Wing Commander Giant Lakshish (VM-G), MWO R.J. Singh and MWO Vivek Tiwari of the Jump Air Force.

Several advance merits have been added to this parachute system. It has low decent rate and improved steering capacity, allowing the paratroopers to exit safely from the plane and secure landing in the scheduled direction. The system also has modern navigation. India’s own navigation with Indian Constitution (NavIC) has been imposed, which will lead to any external country’s interference or signal jamming.
Military Combat Parachute System
The Ministry of Defence reported that India will no longer depend on the foreign parachute system with the success of this system. The first such Combat Parachutes were purchased from Europe and the U.S., which took a long time in servicing and repairing. It will save both time and expenses from the indigenous system.
While, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated the DRDO, the Indian armed forces and defence industry. He said that this achievement is an important milestone towards India’s self-reliance. Dr. Samir V. Kamat, chairman of DRDO also appreciated the team of scientists for this achievement and gave it a great step towards self-reliance in the Ariel Delivery Systems.
DRDO The team told that this system is not only accurate and reliable but it can be used for a long time. Its maintenance also takes much less time and it is more durable than the units purchased from the outside. Its successful test will give the Indian Army a better Combat delivery capability while now deploying in high-altitude operations.
According to the defence experts, this system will also be used in special operations, where the troops enter through high Altitude, Low Opening or High Altitude, High Opening Jump in the enemy terrain. This type of technique will not only enhance the safety of the soldiers but also strengthen the strategic capacity of India.
