Raksha Samachar Editorial Standards | रक्षा समाचार
At Raksha Samachar, we are committed to the highest standards of independent, accurate, and responsible defence journalism in India. Our editorial policies are designed to ensure credibility, transparency, and public trust — especially on matters concerning national security, armed forces personnel, veterans, and defence policy. We follow the principles of E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) as outlined in Google’s Quality Rater Guidelines and adhere strictly to journalistic ethics.
1. Sourcing Policy

  • All information published on Raksha Samachar is based on verifiable sources.
  • Primary sources are preferred: official statements and documents from the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Press Information Bureau (PIB), Armed Forces Headquarters (Army, Navy, Air Force), DRDO, Parliamentary Standing Committee reports, court judgments, and declassified government records.
  • Named authors (serving or retired senior officers) provide expert analysis based on their professional experience.
  • When using secondary sources, we cross-verify with at least two independent and credible outlets.
  • Anonymous sources are used only when the information is of significant public interest and the source’s credibility is established internally. In such cases, we clearly state that the information comes from “a senior official” or “a person familiar with the matter” and explain why anonymity was granted.
  • We never publish unverified rumours, social media speculation, or unconfirmed claims.

2. Corrections Policy

  • Accuracy is our top priority. If an error is identified in any article — factual, typographical, or interpretive — we correct it promptly and transparently.
  • Minor corrections (spelling, grammar, dates) are made silently with a note at the bottom: “Corrected on [Date]”.
  • Significant corrections or clarifications are published at the top of the article in a highlighted box with the heading “Correction” or “Clarification”, including the original error and the corrected information.
  • Readers are encouraged to report errors via the Contact Us page or email at [your editorial email]. Every reported error is reviewed by the editorial desk within 24 hours.

3. Policy on Handling Allegations

  • We take seriously our responsibility when reporting allegations involving serving or retired officers, defence personnel, or government officials.
  • Allegations are published only when supported by credible, on-the-record sources or official documents (court filings, parliamentary questions, government notifications, or formal inquiries).
  • We always provide the right of reply: wherever possible, we contact the concerned individual or organisation for their response before publication.
  • Balanced coverage is mandatory — both the allegation and the official denial or explanation are presented fairly and prominently.
  • We avoid sensational language. Headlines and framing are factual and neutral.
  • In sensitive matters, a named senior author (not the News Desk) is assigned to ensure accountability and expertise.
  • We do not publish unverified personal allegations or defamatory content. Any such material is immediately removed pending verification.

4. Image and Media Policy

  • All photographs, videos, and graphics used on Raksha Samachar are sourced ethically and legally.
  • Priority is given to official sources: PIB, ADGPI (Army), PRO (Navy & Air Force), Ministry of Defence, and verified service accounts.
  • Every image carries a clear credit line immediately below it (e.g., “Image: PIB” or “File photo: ADGPI”).
  • We do not use images from unverified social media accounts or stock photo sites without proper licensing and attribution.
  • Images are used only in non-derogatory contexts and never altered in a way that misrepresents reality.
  • Detailed image sourcing records are maintained internally.
