INS Malwan: The story behind the name ‘Malwan’

The ship has been named as Malwan, the historic coastal city of Maharashtra. It's It Chhatrapati Shivaji Connecting to the maritime strength and strategy of the chef. Malwan has been a special significance due to his strong grip in the sea and the network of kilos.

Along with this, the old ship of the Indian Navy also pushes the tradition of INS Malwan, who was first in service as an innovator and was part of the Navy till 2003. Such old glorious names have continued the tradition of survival in new ships. (INS Malwan)

What kind of ship is ‘Malwan’

‘Malwan’ Anti-Submersion Warfare Shallow is called water craft. This means that this ship is specially designed to work in low-depth parts of the sea, where it is difficult to detect submarines.

Its length is around 78 meters closer, while the width is from about 11.3 to 11.36 meters. The draw of the ship is a maximum of 2.7 meters, which can easily operation in shallow waters. Its total weight is between about 900 to 1100 tons. It is designed in such a way that it can move faster and react instantly when needed.

This ship can run at a speed of a maximum of 25 knots, which are considered a fast pace in the sea. If it is run at normal speed i.e. 14 knots, it can travel without stopping to close 1800 knots. The total of 57 people are deployed, including 7 officers and 50 sailors.

The ship has three diesel engines, which drives it through the waterjet production system. This means that the ship proceeds by throwing the water faster on the back, which improves its ability to change the direction and moves with a low voice. That makes it difficult for the enemy submarines to recognize it. In addition, the Steth and Signature Reduction technology has also been given, making it not easily monitored on radar and sonar. Special preparations against submarines

The biggest feature of this ship is its anti-submarine capacity. It has modern systems that help detect hidden enemies under water.

(INS Malwan)

(INS Malwan)

(INS Malwan)

(INS Malwan)

(INS Malwan)
