Heavyweight Torpedo India: Germany’s major naval company Thessengroup Marine Systems (TKMS) and Hyderabad-based Indian Defence Company Vime Technologies have made a big agreement to jointly create heavyweight torpedo in India. This teaming agreement between the two companies is being considered to be important in the direction of transfer of torpedo technology in India and paving modern torpedo under "Make-in-India". Modern heavyweight torpedo for Indian Navy will be constructed under the agreement.
Heavyweight Torpedo India: Modern Heavyweight Torpedo Made in India
A state-of-the-art heavyweight in India under this agreement Torpedo Devlops and will be prepared. This Torpedo will be used for the existing submarines of the Indian Navy. Torpedo is an underwater weapon launched from submarines or warships. It is used to target enemy ships and submarines.
Heavyweight Torpedo usually has the ability to attack longer distances and carry more powerful warheads. It is therefore considered an extremely important weapon for modern navys. Construction in Hyderabad
TKMS The Executive Vice President Michael Ozegovsky, of the Executive Vice President, told this agreement an important step for both companies. He said this agreement will further strengthen the strategic partnership between TKMS and VEM. According to them, Torpedo technology transfer through this cooperation will help India become more self-sufficient in the field of naval defence.
He also said that VEM will make significant contributions to strengthen the Indian Navy through the project and also promote the technical freedom of India.
The project will handle the Chief Production Responsibility VEM Technologies. The Company will prepare for the creation of Torpedo in its manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. From the purchase of Raw Material to Fabrication, Manufacturing and Final Assembly, all work will be done in India. The ability to create around 500 torpedo every year in the future can be developed according to reports. The agreement will also have technology transfer
The most important part of this cooperation is technology transfer. The ally affiliated company of TKMS will provide important technology and software license VIM associated with Atlas Electronic Torpedo. This will give the Indian company access to state-of-the-art Torpedo technology and it will develop and produce it in India. September 2025 in MoU was signed
टीकेएमएस और वीईएम के बीच सहयोग की शुरुआत पहले ही हो चुकी थी। सितंबर 2025 में दोनों कंपनियों के बीच एक मेमोरेंडम ऑफ अंडरस्टैंडिंग (एमओयू) साइन किया गया था। उस समझौते में टॉरपीडो के डेवलपमेंट, इंटीग्रेशन, टेस्टिंग और मॉडर्नाइजेशन पर काम करने की योजना बनाई गई थी। अब नया टीमिंग एग्रीमेंट उसी सहयोग का अगला चरण माना जा रहा है, जिसमें वास्तविक उत्पादन और टेक्नोलॉजी ट्रांसफर की दिशा में आगे बढ़ा गया है। (Heavyweight Torpedo India)
भविष्य में बन सकता है जॉइंट वेंचर
दोनों कंपनियां इस सहयोग को आगे और भी बढ़ाने की योजना बना रही हैं। मध्यम अवधि में टीकेएमएस और वीईएम मिलकर एक जॉइंट वेंचर भी स्थापित कर सकते हैं। इस जॉइंट वेंचर का उद्देश्य भारतीय बाजार को लंबे समय तक उच्च गुणवत्ता वाले हेवीवेट टॉरपीडो उपलब्ध कराना होगा। इसके साथ-साथ भविष्य में निर्यात के अवसर भी तलाशे जा सकते हैं। अगर भारत में बने टॉरपीडो अंतरराष्ट्रीय मानकों पर खरे उतरते हैं तो उन्हें दूसरे देशों को भी निर्यात किया जा सकता है। (Heavyweight Torpedo India)
भारतीय नौसेना को मिलेगा फायदा
इस परियोजना का सबसे बड़ा फायदा भारतीय नौसेना को मिलेगा। फिलहाल कई महत्वपूर्ण हथियार सिस्टम्स के लिए भारत को विदेशी आपूर्तिकर्ताओं पर निर्भर रहना पड़ता है। अगर टॉरपीडो का निर्माण भारत में ही शुरू हो जाता है तो नौसेना को समय पर हथियार उपलब्ध कराना आसान होगा। इसके अलावा रखरखाव, अपग्रेड और मरम्मत जैसे काम भी देश के भीतर ही किए जा सकेंगे। इससे ऑपरेशनल रेडीनेस यानी युद्ध के लिए तैयारी की क्षमता भी बढ़ेगी।
आत्मनिर्भर भारत को मिलेगी मजबूती
यह परियोजना भारत की आत्मनिर्भर भारत और मेक-इन-इंडिया पहल को भी मजबूत करेगी। रक्षा क्षेत्र में स्वदेशी उत्पादन बढ़ाने पर सरकार लगातार जोर दे रही है। ऐसे सहयोग से भारत की रक्षा इंडस्ट्री को नई तकनीक, निवेश और रोजगार के अवसर मिलते हैं। इसके साथ ही देश की रणनीतिक स्वतंत्रता भी मजबूत होती है क्योंकि महत्वपूर्ण हथियार प्रणालियों के लिए विदेशों पर निर्भरता कम हो जाती है।
