Book Review: ‘On the other hand of Everest’ is a book of R Veddra Kumar, which gives readers the world’s highest peak Mount Everest as well as the motivation to win life challenges. Rabindra Kumar is an IAS officer who is also fond of mountaineering. In this book, he has interestingly described his Everest climb and Tibet’s cultural-study journey. In particular, Jokhang Math makes this book more special.

Book Review: Arrive from North direction to the peak of Everest

Rabindra Kumar comes from a simple family. Hard work and diligently they first became the IAS officer and then dreamed of catastrophic mountains like Everest. At the beginning of the book they tell how they tried to climb Everest in 2013, but failed. This failure was not defeated for them. In 2017 after several years of hard work, physical and mental preparation, they arrived at the peak of Everest from the northern direction of Tibet. In Tibet, Everest is called Chomolangma, it is called Sagarmatha in Nepal. It is extremely difficult to climb from Tibet as compared to Nepal, and the highly selected people are able to meet Tibet’s side.

The name of the book "On the other hand of Everest" does not just show the second direction of the mountain, but it speaks of the aspects of life, where the human beings gain something bigger by defeating their weaknesses. "Everest is not just a mountain, it symbolizes every great challenge of life. ""

The magic of Tibet and Jokhang Monastery
